BRAIN AND INTELLIGENCE

In this lesson we will study brain anatomy and funcion.

But first, we are going to watch a video funny video on how functional areas of the brain were discovered. The video is entitled The great brain debate



After this introduction we are ready to study brain anatomy.

You can do it yourself using the 3-D BRAIN ANATOMY TOOL,  reading the contents of the McGill online book or regarding this interactive activity of Bitesize from the BBC. The second resource it is interesting because you can find three levels of difficulty on the Nervous System.

Multiple intelligences

The brain is the house of intelligence... During the first decades of past century, intelligence was used to be mesured using a IQ test. Nowadays, intelligence is considered a much more complex issue, especially since the develpment of the multiple intelligences hypothesis by Howard Gardner in 1983. If you have time, see how Dr. Gardner explain his own hypothesis in the TV show Redes. You can quantify your different intelligences having this test develped by researchers at Birmingham University.





An interesting approach in the intelligence field has been propossed by Dr. Adrian Owen. His resarch team is triying to measure intelligence using a online test created to discover your intelligence Strengths.
